Data retention and auto-deletion
By default LendPacket keeps documents until you delete them. If your firm's policy requires purging borrower documents after closing:
- Settings → Data retention → set the number of days after a file CLOSES (30 days to 10 years).
- Seven days before a purge, the file's owner gets a warning email — export a package first if you need the documents, or reopen the file to cancel.
- On the purge date the document files are permanently deleted. The file record, checklist history, and audit trail remain, and a permanent purge log records exactly what was deleted and when.
Purging only ever touches CLOSED files. Reopening a file resets its clock.
