Billing: what counts as an "active file"

Plans are priced on active borrower files, not documents or borrowers:

• A file is active in a month if at least one document was requested or received in that month. Untouched files cost nothing.
• Closed or archived files never count, no matter what.
• Unlimited borrower uploads, unlimited documents per file, no per-borrower fees.

Going over your plan's included files never blocks anything — extra files simply bill at your plan's per-file rate ($12 Starter / $10 Team / $8 Growth) on your next invoice. The billing page shows a live meter and warns at 80% and 100%; at that point upgrading is usually cheaper than overage.
